Adding floral patterns into your home: So blooming pretty

Since we are officially in spring, and I’m sure we all need a break from the world events happening right now, I thought it would be fun to take a little break to discuss floral patterns into your home.

If you’re anything like me, I’m nowhere near being a green-thumb. While I have started to bring back plants into my home (I’m feeling a bit more mature to handle them now), there are other way to bring florals into your home.

Floral patterns are such a big trend right now. Whether it be through fabric, wallpaper, artificial and real flowers, or decor, they are everywhere! From subtle to stunning, here are some ways to consider adding this to your home.

Floral Patterns: Wallpaper

If you’r unsure about wallpaper, I’m here to let you know we’re not talking about your grandmother’s wallpaper here. Gone are the days where you would have to practically remove drywall to remove wallpaper. I would like to show you some are some stunning spaces that have wallpaper.

Go Bold

My friend, Angela Todd with Angela Todd Studios, loves bold. Below is an image of Angela’s front foyer.

I encourage you to read about this entire space Angela created for the One Room Challenge in the Fall of 2019, and follower her on Instagram.

When I participated in the One Room Challenge, I had considered wallpaper. In the end, paint was my choice (I know…boring!)

Take a peek at this master bedroom below.

Veronica, with Casa Vilora Interiors by Veronica Solomon, is another designer who embraces the bold florals. This gorgeous feature wall in this master bedroom is stunning!

While I rarely embrace the bold, this is what the inside of my shelving units look like in my office. I chose to use a bolder wallpaper to line the back of the white shelves to bring in some colour and personality.

Go Subtle

If going bold is not your thing, then there are plenty of floral wallpapers that are more subtle.

This gorgeous space above, designed by Lisa Peck, is so refreshing! Who wouldn’t want a space to work in that looks like this?

This cute, pastel floral wallpaper, is so soft and fresh. I get the sense of calm when I see this paper and while the image above shows a nursery, I can see this going in a number of spaces in a home.

Floral Patterns: Fabric

Whether it be through drapery or toss cushions, adding in a floral pattern can really spruce up a space!

This is one of my favourite happy spaces designed by Lisa Peck. It is fun, light, and you can see how the floral drapery has added just the right amount of lightness to this space!

These super cute floral pattern toss cushions are in our guest bedroom. They add just the right amount of colour into this space.

Floral Patterns Decor and More

If you’re not sure about wallpaper or fabrics, there are a lot of decor choices that you could easily add without a major committment.

We have a number of pieces from Maui artist Sherri Reeve in our home. I love bringing a little bit of Maui home with us each year.

These two little love birds are a favourite with the Mister. While he is nowhere near a fan of art and decorating, he fell in love with these two little birds. While the love birds are the focal point, it is the flowering tree that I am drawn to!

Artwork not your thing? How about a gorgeous area rug?

There are so many ways to bring a touch of spring into your home. I have rounded up a few of my favourites for you below.

When things settle down, and you’re ready to get some help to spring up your home, I’ll look forward to helping you out!
