Finding the Motivation

You know whenever you dread something, we can find a million excuses to not get it done?  I know I feel that way when it comes to cleaning my house.  I LOVE a clean house.  I absolutely detest cleaning it!  It seems to take hours to do, there doesn’t seem to be a huge appreciation for  getting it cleaned (meaning it really only seems to matter to me), and it can take less than 10 minutes for it to look like a bomb went off!

Knowing all of the above, I still seem to dig deep, put my headphones in my ears, crank the tunes, and just get it done.  Why?  Because it matters to me.  It matters that my house is clean.  A clean house for me = calm.  Do I have to talk myself into getting started?  You bet I do.  Do I try to find an excuse to not clean?  Absolutely!

Whether we’re talking about cleaning a house, exercising, loosing weight, catching up on paperwork, organizing a space  – it really is all the same.  We all need to find some kind of motivation to give us the good ol’ kick in the butt to get going.

Along my journey with my business, I’ve come across some great motivating quotes.   Those times when I really don’t feel like even starting to clean, I often will take five minutes to find some kind of quote to get me going.  Here are a few of my favorites:
